Location and hours:This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site at the Government Center in downtown Minneapolis at 300 6th St S, Minneapolis, MN 55487 and remote as job duties require. This candidate must be able to travel to various locations such as community sites and Hennepin County locations as well as travel out-of-state twice per year with the Commissioner. Work hours for this position are primarily Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with occasional evenings and weekends as duties require. While this position is designated as hybrid, based on current requirements hires must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

In this position, you will: - Schedule appointments; arrange meetings and conferences; organize meeting materials.
- Manage the full calendar of the Commissioner.
- Screen, prioritize, and answer phone calls and written and electronic correspondence, including constituent services, concerns by phone, email and in person; work diligently with department contacts, both within Hennepin County and other units of government or organizations, to resolve.
- Prepare and process office expenses, such as payment of invoices, travel reimbursements, and other expenses.
- Process and maintain a detailed and organized system of electronic and paper files that include forms, records, accounts, personnel records, payroll, budget, expenditure records, equipment and supply requisition forms.
- Coordinate all aspects of travel arrangements, including preparation of detailed itineraries, contact names, phone numbers, and locations.
- Receive guests to meet with the Commissioner.
- Work closely and in partnership with community / neighborhood organizations throughout the district.
Need to have:- One of the following:
- Four or more years of related administrative experience.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a field related to the position.
Nice to have:- Knowledge of the 6th District of Hennepin County.
- Experience:
- Providing administrative support for an executive level position.
- Maintaining confidentiality and discretion when dealing with sensitive and proprietary information.
- Scheduling appointments, coordinating flights and hotel, and arranging meetings and/or conferences.
- Organizing events.
- Using a high level of skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and especially Outlook), PeopleSoft, and SharePoint.
- Providing exceptional attentional to detail and strategic thinking ability that recognizes the impact of details on broader policy.
- Applying Diversity, Equity and Inclusion best practices in efforts to reduce racial and other disparities.
- Knowledge of county and department policies and procedures.
- Ability to:
- Establish productive working relationships and work independently with minimal direction and in a team environment.
- Provide strong interpersonal skills and demonstrate a high level of proficiency in written and verbal communication.
- Interact with individuals from socially, economically and culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Handle multiple complex and simultaneous tasks while recognizing priorities and meeting deadlines, good organizational and time management skills.
