About our group: The Data Analytics (DA) team in Characterization and Analytics Group develops big data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support R&D design and development activities within Recording Head Technology organization.About the role - you will: Work closely with R&D design team, gather datasets from COMSOL simulation of different plasmonic structures, data pre-processing into structure/format fit for model training. Research suitable ML model architecture (discriminative/predictive/generative approaches) that can be used to design plasmonic nano-antenna for HAMR application. Post-process, analyze, organize, and present results. Draw physically meaningful conclusions about configurations and expected performance and communicate findings. About you: Proven problem-solving skills and out-of-box thinking mindset. Good communication and teamwork skills needed in collaborative cross functional team environment throughout the company Your experience includes: Bachelor degree student in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics fields and returning to school in Fall 2025. Experience with machine learning algorithms and optical simulations (COMSOL or other equivalent FEM software). Experience with Linux and Windows computing environments. Introductory experience with programming languages (e.g. C++, Python, Java). You might also have: Experience with optimization methods, surrogate model, AI augmented simulation is a plus. Familiarity with high-performance computing cluster environment. Github/gitlab version control. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
