About our group: The Mechanical Product Development team is responsible for all aspects of mechanical product development within the recording head technology department (RHT). This includes HDM validation, AAB integration, factory integration and performance / reliability assessments. This team is made up of tribologists, AAB designers, product engineers and process integration engineers.About the role - you will: Be responsible for developing a relationship between known contam/defect and build/test process, using electrical tester and contam and defect characterization tools and document the progress and instructions. Perform coherent data analysis and develop transfer function between contam/defects and head performance CTQs. Work with design team and factory team to establish coherency between contam/defects and relevant process CTQs Work with design team and cleanliness team to improve contam/defect monitoring and screening at ISI and ET. About you: Enjoy solving highly technical and challenging problems thru hand on and data analysis. Attention to detail is critical to you. You have a drive for precision, to meet very tight deadlines and a strong understanding for the overall project management side of production. You have exceptional communication skills and a global mind set. Your experience includes: Pursuing master or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Basic understanding of contamination source and corrosion in industrial processes and cleanroom environment Understanding of data storage and knowledge of hard drive or semiconductor manufacturing process. Experience with contam/defect/material characterization tool like AFM, SEM, Optical microscope, etc Experience with test system (mechanical and electrical, etc) Strong experience in Python (numpy, scipy, pandas) and coding in Matlab Able to work efficiently with PC based programs for data analysis and with Google site for documentation. Guiding various internal functional groups on highly technical issues involving overall mechanical product design and performance. Organize, schedule, and execute engineering projects in the cross-functional environment. Basic understanding of statistics and six sigma methodology Summarizing and presenting data are essential. You might also have: Advanced studies in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, project management, product design Able to work independently and also be able to contribute as a team member. Able to work in a very dynamic, fast-paced, highly technical environment.
