Oway is popularizing a completely new way to affordably ship up to 8 pallets across long distances, cutting out warehousing transfers along the way. It's a huge problem - almost half of all truck space goes unused in the $900B+ US trucking industry, while small businesses are forced to pay high freight cost simply due to their low volume.

About the Role
As a Carrier Acquisition Executive (and one of our first employees), you will work closely with the Head of Driver Acquisition to play a critical role in shaping the future of our business. You will prospect, contract, secure, and establish relationships with carriers to move LTL freight shipments for the Oway marketplace.
Your Qualifications
Personally, you are a driven individual who has a track record of success in carrier or fleet sales in the logistics industry. You have an insatiable hunger for success paired with a strategic methodology to pursue winning business opportunities. You are a self-starter who will operate with a high level of autonomy.
Your Requirements
- High performer in 3rd party fleet management, driver dispatching, or driver brokerage
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to build driver relationships
- Thrives in fast-paced environment while simultaneously managing multiple sales cycles
- Proven ability to effectively cultivate leads through prospecting, such as cold calling, discovery, and marketing campaigns
- Existing network of drivers with lane coverage between NorCal and SoCal
Position Responsibilities
- Sales acumen to develop action plans and make decisions that will support the overall sales and profit objectives
- Conduct outbound sales presentations, visits, calls, and emails to engage with prospects
- Use strong relationships to understand carriers’ business to qualify them better and gain knowledge of lanes serviced
- Meet or exceed departmental goals for outbound calls, financial returns, and/or capacity growth
- Monitor industry trends and market conditions to take advantage of opportunities
Technology
Optimizing routing + mapping protocols using machine learning to find the most efficient matches between truckers and shipments.Developing ML algorithms for optimized pricing.Designing innovative, colorful UX/UI for businesses and drivers to use.Using LLMs to enhance UX + customer service.Developing APIs for integrations for ERPs as well as other companies that want to build off of Oway.Building mobile apps.Pioneering new, low friction ways for drivers to maximize their ability to make Oway rideshare pickups.Brainstorming and developing tools to make the lives of drivers and businesses easier (mapping, workflow, community, etc.)
