We're scaling SimplyCodes to become the definitive platform for online savings, with millions of promotional offers across 400,000+ stores. We need an exceptional Staff Engineer to solve complex challenges in:
- Architecting and scaling our verification orchestration system that combines ML models, crowdsourcing, and real-time processing
- Designing the next iteration of ShopGraph's infrastructure to handle exponential growth
- Building robust automated systems for maintaining data quality across our knowledge graph
- Leading technical decisions for core infrastructure components
- Mentoring other engineers on system design and best practices

The opportunity
You'll be a key technical leader helping scale our infrastructure. Our systems combine fascinating challenges across distributed systems, ML infrastructure, and real-time processing:
First 30 days:
- Deep dive into our architecture, particularly ShopGraph and verification systems
- Begin participating in and leading technical design discussions
- Start contributing to core infrastructure improvements
- Build relationships with key technical stakeholders
First 90 days:
- Own architectural direction for key system components
- Design and implement improvements to our verification orchestration system
- Lead initiatives to scale our crowdsourcing and ML infrastructure
- Begin mentoring other engineers on system design
First 6 months:
- Drive major architectural decisions and infrastructure improvements
- Lead design and implementation of next-gen verification systems
- Establish technical standards and best practices
- Significantly improve system reliability and performance
About you
Must-haves:
- Deep expertise in distributed systems design and implementation
- Strong background building large-scale backend systems
- Experience with ML infrastructure and model serving in production
- Proficiency with streaming architectures and real-time processing
- Track record of making sound architectural decisions
- Strong computer science fundamentals
- Experience leading significant technical initiatives
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with graph databases and knowledge graphs
- Background in crowdsourcing systems or content moderation platforms
- Significant ML infrastructure experience
- Open source contributions
- Interest in e-commerce and retail technology

Compensation & growth opportunity
We align individual success with company performance:
- Competitive base salary: $200,000 - $275,000 DOE
- Equity: 0.1% - 0.25% initial grant
