Overview
Morning Brew is looking for a Video Producer with entrepreneurship and business content expertise and experience in producing, writing, and editing video for social platforms and YouTube to work across Morning Brew’s entrepreneurship franchises BOSSY and 60 Second Start-up. In this role, you will be the main coordinating role for these franchise’s video efforts, working directly with each brand’s talent to produce highly engaging video content in The Brew’s signature mix of fun and informative.
Duties will be diverse and wide ranging, from day-to-day pre-production tasks (including pitching fresh and unexpected content, researching and preparing topics, and setting video structure), as well as post-production tasks (including producing social content, executing publishing of videos across platforms, and implementing sales initiatives).
You’re considered a rockstar candidate if you’re a full stack video producer who also loves the markets, can work in a fast-paced environment, can collaborate across multifunctional teams, and proactively work on improving systems and maintaining excellent quality.
This position is based in New York and would require you to be able to commute into our NY-based office several days a week.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing ideation, production, post production, and distribution of BOSSY and 60 Second Startup video content.
- Working with video talent on research needs, topic ideas, story structure, and delivery.
- Coordinating all parties around the creative and development process
- Coordinating with the broader Morning Brew teams to keep them informed of projects and look for areas of collaboration.
- Working with social teams to grow a robust and engaged audience across platforms.
Candidate must-haves:
- You’re enthusiastic about (and ideally have strong knowledge of) business, markets, the economy, and investing.
- You hold strong research and writing skills; you could whip up a 30-second primer on the impact of AI in startup culture, while also being excited to dive deep into the logistics of how to build a proper sales funnel.
- You’re experienced with Adobe Premiere and Pro Tools (being familiar with Photoshop is a plus!); you know what makes video content engaging and punchy
- You understand the major social video platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and X, formerly Twitter)—you know what will make a splash and resonate with each audience
- You have outstanding communication, collaboration and organizational skills—and an impeccable eye for detail and creative opportunities
- You can work on a deadline, and tasks rarely, if ever, fall through the cracks
- You have a minimum 2-5 years experience in media and video production; you know best practices in and out
- You watch YouTube, you watch social videos, you’re not just a subject matter and technical fit, you love the ecosystems within which we create for.
COMPENSATION: $75K-90K base DOE
