About the role:
Our team is expanding in New York! We are looking for a Commercial Counsel with 2-3 years of contract experience, ideally within the advertising, adtech, or digital media sectors. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in negotiating, drafting, and managing various commercial contracts, collaborating closely with our business development and sales teams to support our growing operations.
What you’ll do:
- Review, draft, and negotiate vendor, non-disclosure, sales, and other commercial agreements for global clients.
- Provide legal and strategic business advice across departments, including Sales, HR, Product, Technology, and Finance.
- Collaborate with the General Counsel to develop and enforce company policies and ensure legal compliance with internal policies and applicable laws.
- Stay informed on legal developments, particularly in the adtech industry, and advise the business accordingly.
What experience we’re looking for:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from a reputable law school.
- 2-3 years of experience as a commercial lawyer in a law firm or in-house.
- Licensed to practice law in New York.
- Strong ability to negotiate software and technology contracts; knowledge of advertising technology or online advertising is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Familiarity with Salesforce and contract management tools like LinkSquares is a plus.

At Vistar Media, we carefully consider a wide range of factors, including experience, skills, and other relevant business considerations. These considerations can cause compensation to vary. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position. The salary range estimate for this position as performed in New York City is $143,000 - $150,000 plus bonus potential, comprehensive health benefits, 401k with company match, and a lifestyle stipend. The salary range for this position as performed outside of New York City and CA may vary. The actual pay will be at Vistar Media’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to geographic location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
