PRIMARY PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for maintenance, repairs, innovations, and improvements that ensure the reliability and performance of the district's network.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

High School Diploma/GED.
Valid Texas driver's license.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

Palo Alto Firewalls
Network Security
Cisco iOS
Dlink OS
Network Access Control solutions
Project Management

EXPERIENCE:

Engineering/Implementation of new Layer 2/3 networks
Engineering of new firewall, NAC, wireless Installations.
At least 2 years' experience with environments listed in special skills section.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Managing the district's firewalls, core routing, and switching
Perform other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

None

Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm, or finger motion
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to lift 60 pounds.
Seeing close work such as typed or handwritten material
