The Compliance Section strives to create relevant reports and data accessibility resources to ensure Command and Borough/Bureau level compliance. The Professional Standards Division, Compliance Section is seeking candidates to fill the position of Crime Analyst Level I. The candidate's responsibilities include but are not limited to:-Create and utilize spreadsheets, databases, tables, charts, and graphics to assist with routine research and recognize, identify and summarize conditions, trends and patterns of crime and member of service historical compliance. -Assist in the maintenance of complex databases and spreadsheets through the use of several analytical programs (Cognos, Python, R, and databases)-Create clearly written and effective reports and other analytical products to prepare multimedia presentations to display crime related data and use of force strategy in executive level briefings and conferences-Review Body Worn Camera footage to conduct thorough investigation of compliance to force used policy related to criminal activity investigations to conduct a qualitive analysis and suggest tactical and operational reviews.WORK LOCATION AND HOURS375 Pearl Street New York, NY 10038Monday - Friday; Between 0700-1800ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:Please include a cover letter with your application. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a closely related field; and one year of satisfactory full-time experience in the analysis and/or research of data related to crime, criminals, criminal intelligence, and/or other social sciences in a police, judicial, or other criminal justice setting; or 2. A Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a closely related field; and a Master’s degree from an accredited college in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Sociology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a closely related field. SPECIAL NOTE:To be eligible for placement in Assignment Level II, individuals must have, after meeting the minimum requirements, three additional years of full time qualifying experience as described in (1) above; or two years of full time qualifying experience as a Crime Analyst Assignment Level I.
