Your mission
Where do you fit in?
We’re looking for a Design Lead to join our award-winning creative studio within the Marketing & Communications team. Your mission? To be our go-to authority on all design related matters, guarding and elevating CALM’s visual brand identity, ensuring a standout and consistent experience across every channel, platform, and product.
Responsibilities
You’ll be responsible for driving the creative direction of content that smashes the silence around suicide. You’ll have a pro understanding of how our visual brand supports all areas of our strategy. You’ll obsess over typography, layout and art direction, setting the standard for Studio delivery, with acute attention to detail and the highest level of craft. You’ll have a keen eye for detail and a desire to push boundaries and create engaging, stand out comms that really speak to our audience, promote our vision and help those who are struggling.
We’re lucky here at CALM that a lot of the work you see - on socials, on billboards, on screens - is created in-house. From BIG ideas to small jobs (yeah, you have to do some Google Slides designs and touching up photos sometimes, we all do), you’ll be working on a wide variety of projects - no day will be the same.
Some responsibility headlines:
Day to day, you'll work on a range of exciting (and life-saving) briefs from across the org from the Fundraising, Services, Operations and Data & Innovation teams
Have an overarching perspective of how CALM looks and feels across multiple platforms and products, stewarding the brand identity
Produce best in class content for a wide variety of marketing campaigns and owned channels
Juggle multiple projects simultaneously and balance different priorities effectively
Champion design best practices, partner with Head of Creative Operations to help optimise design aspects of studio briefing
Mentor and coach team of two other designers from a technical mastery point of view, empowering them to deliver top tier creative
Design and implement CALM Brand Guidelines onboarding for creative partners (freelancers and agencies) plus ongoing improvement and updating of our visual brand toolkit
Control and curate self-serve access to CALM’s brand assets, media libraries and archives, setting us up for growth
Some of the things you’ll get:
The opportunity to work in a creative and thriving team on lots of exciting projects
A nurturing environment to share your creative ideas - we always encourage everyone to get involved in projects, big and small
The chance to make a difference and help loads of people (cheesy but true)
Collaboration is a big part of the job too, so you must be able to communicate well with others – discussing ideas throughout the entire creative process. We use music, art, comedy and everything in between to get our message across - so keeping a finger on the pulse of current trends is key to making our voice heard.
