Job Title:Membrane R&D Engineer

The Role: Our site in Bedford, MAis seeking a Membrane R&D Engineer to join our team. This position is part of the Gas Microcontamination Control Membrane R&D group. The GMC Membrane R&D group is focused on developing new membrane technology to be used in gas filters and diffusers.
What You'll Do: - You will utilize your skills/experience with powder metallurgy to conceptualize, design, develop, and document porous metal membranes for use in the semiconductor industry.
- Lead multiple technology development projects with the objective of creating new metal membrane for use in ultra-high purity gas filtration.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks within these new products/processes with the ultimate intention of releasing the product/process into a manufacturing environment.
- Incorporate the use of DOE's to provide stakeholders with a robust data set within technical reports.
- Characterize and implement innovative new materials.
- Create documentation related to the design and development of new products such Technical Reports, Solid Model Drawings, and Test Procedures/Methods where applicable.
- Build R&D reports containing information in a professional, effective, structured, and concise format.
What We Seek: - Bachelors Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy Engineering and 2-5 years of directly related experience
- Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Metallurgy Engineering and 1+ years of directly related experience.
- Experience in powder metallurgy processing
- Ability to work both in a lab environment with long periods of standing and an office environment
Outstanding Candidates Will Have: - An unparalleled attention to detail.
- Experience with software for solid modeling and drawing, preferably SolidWorks.
- Experience using powder metallurgy methodologies to create porous parts.
- Knowledge of the semiconductor industry desirable but not required.
- Must be able to thrive in a team-oriented environment with the ability to communicate effectively with cross functional team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Quick learner, open and able to adapt with new tasks and processes.
