ABOUT THE ROLE:
We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join our small team of three as a fixed-term maternity cover. Reporting into our Director of Strategic Communications, this role is instrumental in continuing our existing member and impact communications work, as well as supporting on strategic and public-facing communications projects in 2025. Your work will position Founders Pledge effectively with our target audiences, and ultimately move more funds to the highest-impact opportunities worldwide.
Responsibilities will include:
- Works with the Strat Comms Director and US-based Comms Manager to craft and deliver an annual strategy in line with wider business goals, including org-wide OHMs, team OHMs & relevant OKRs.
- With the wider Comms Team, develops annual roadmaps and keeps them up-to-date through regular retros
- Applying Communications and Marketing best practices to plan & deliver cross-channel, audience-first campaigns, as well as writing content to achieve desired outcomes
- Leading the creation of communications and marketing assets such as written content, product marketing, and sales enablement collateral (sometimes leading in-house or contracted designers to ensure desired outcome)
- Project managing cross-functional communications campaigns, including sharing comprehensive plans & rationale, messaging drafts, and outcomes with key stakeholders
- Writing and editing content for a range of channels, including opinion pieces, blogs, press releases and corporate communications
- Managing Founders Pledge's social media (currently LinkedIn, X, YouTube)
- Supporting the Director of Strategic Communications with proactive and reactive public relations (including copywriting, desk research and media management & monitoring)
- Acting as a brand guardian, with an excellent understanding of our verbal and visual identities.
ABOUT YOU:
You will have 3-5 years of communications/marketing/media/PR experience, and are now looking to have an impact in a small organization with global reach. An excellent understanding of a variety of communications and marketing sub-disciplines is a plus, as well as practical public relations experience or experience with the UK media.
We’re also looking for someone with/who is:
- Practical know-how and track record of turning strategy into execution plans.
- Experience working cross-functionally, leading projects and multiple stakeholders to deliver communication goals.
- A great writer - you understand the basic best practices and are able to adapt to Founders Pledge’s house style and customize your writing for the right audiences.
- Good interpersonal and influencing skills, and the drive to share your knowledge to improve our organization’s external comms.
- Experience working in social media
- A team player, adaptable and quick-thinking
Nice-to-have/might be helpful in the role:
- Experience in a non-profit organization or with impact communication for a profit-making company
- Experience creating messaging from technical or academic content to lay audiences in a clear and compelling way without losing the accuracy of original content

We ask applicants for this role to be based in London or Europe. If you’re based in London, we’d like you to come to our office in London Bridge 1-2 days a week during onboarding. If based in Europe, this is a remote role. To work remotely you just need a great home wifi connection, and we’ll provide you with everything else that you need!
We usually bring the global team together once per year, and individual teams will meet to work together at least once annually!
