We invest in founders building exceptional companies across B2B software, marketplace, and consumer internet verticals in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and Israel.
Position Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Research Analyst to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compiling and analyzing data, particularly in venture capital fund performance metrics. This role requires a deep understanding of venture fund returns by vintage, size, geography, and specialization, with a specific focus on comparing vertical-specific funds to generalist funds in North America.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on venture capital fund performance metrics.
- Source data from reputable sources and databases to compile accurate reports.
- Analyze fund returns by vintage, size, and geographical focus (North America).
- Provide insights into the performance differences between vertical-specific funds and generalist funds.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
- Collaborate with investment teams to support decision-making processes with data-driven insights.
- Stay updated on industry trends and developments in the venture capital landscape.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Preferably a masters degree in statistics or equivalent if possible
- 2-3 years of proven experience as a Research Analyst or similar role, with a focus on financial analysis and venture capital
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
- Experience compiling and interpreting complex datasets from multiple sources.
- Familiarity with venture capital fund structures, return metrics, and performance evaluation methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and concisely.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
