Outsiders Fund is a Seed and Series A venture capital firm that invests in founders that are disrupting outdated markets where massive value remains trapped in old infrastructure. The dustier and more boring an industry, the more excited we get. The firm has $100m+ AUM and is currently deploying capital out of its second fund.We are looking for a full-time investment analyst to join our team to lead our sourcing efforts while supporting the entire investing process in a sector-agnostic capacity. Help us unlock overlooked markets by:
- Being the primary piston in our direct sourcing engine and finding new investment opportunities
- Forging relationships and building your network to ultimately drive value-add for the firm
- Working on a purposefully small team that works collaboratively on every deal
- Meet a broad range of founders and evaluate their business and vision for thesis fit
- Supporting due diligence initiatives and general deal execution
You are:
- Told by your friends that you should be a private investigator or in the CIA because you have a knack for research and finding needles in haystacks
- Passionate about innovation and have a demonstrated interest in venture capital
- Excited by finding new and innovative companies through many avenues
- Anxious to learn the VC business from the inside out, bottom up
- Able to use Python to build tools to make company searches simpler
- Hyper curious to learn about and understand the world around you
- Comfortable working in an unstructured environment
- Equally balanced analytical and interpersonal skills
- A dexterous self-starter and multi-tasker that can balance multiple projects simultaneously
- New York-based or willing to relocate
- 1-2 years out of college and have worked in a fast-paced environment

About Outsiders Fund
Austin McChord and Teddy Seem founded Outsiders Fund in early 2020. Austin is the founder of Datto, a cloud software and cybersecurity company he grew from his parent’s basement into a multi-billion dollar public company. Teddy was an investment engineer at Bridgewater Associates and later led the machine learning initiatives at an NYC start-up before attending Harvard Business School and starting Outsiders Fund.
