Job Summary
We are seeking an Analyst for J.P. Morgan Life Sciences Private Capital (“LSPC”), an early-stage venture and growth equity fund within J.P. Morgan Asset Management. The role will offer the Analyst the opportunity to work directly with the investment team to manage the team’s calendars, interact with company management teams, coordinate with clients/limited partners (LPs), track deal flow, build a network in the life sciences ecosystem, assist with internal investment processes, actively monitor investments, and the potential to grow into a career as an investor.
Job Responsibilities
- Work directly with investment team (Chief Investment Officer, Managing Partners, Venture Partner, Associates, investor relations team) to manage schedules
- Coordinate with company management teams and clients/limited partners (LPs) for the current funds
- Maintain proprietary deal database
- Build and maintain competitive landscape analyses for various areas of the life sciences ecosystem
- Assist the Private Capital investor relations team to prepare and track client requests
- Ongoing monitoring and support of portfolio companies
- Aid in evaluation of investment opportunities, with the purpose of forming independent investment decisions
- Learn to build and maintain financial models and conduct valuation analyses
- Perform other responsibilities related to executing the investment mandates of the funds
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited University or College
- Minimum of ~1 year of related work experience following completion of undergraduate program, with a preference for management consulting or investment banking experience
- Strong analytic and communication (written, verbal and presentation) skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Outlook, MS Excel and PowerPoint
- Team oriented mindset
- Exceptional work ethic and organizational / multi-tasking skills
- Results oriented and self-motivated with an ability to thrive in a highly entrepreneurial environment
- Demonstrable interest for healthcare and venture/growth investing
