Key Responsibilities:
- Build a robust pipeline of startups and retail businesses through research, outreach, and event participation.
- Review incoming requests and conduct initial vetting of potential investments.
- Conduct detailed business and financial due diligence for startups and retail businesses, seeking investment committee approval.
- Facilitate introductions and tours for interested businesses in the neighborhood.
- Contribute to marketing strategy for the Business Attraction program.
- Collaborate with internal teams to plan events supporting Business Attraction efforts.
- Partner with the Neighborhood Program Coordinator to provide robust support to program participants, fostering growth and economic impact.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Sr Director, Economic Impact.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in supporting venture capital or startups, with a focus on building deal flow and preparing investment memos.
- MBA or similar degree with concentrations in business, investing, finance, or economics.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
- Proficient in insights and data-driven decision-making.
- Comfortable with both strategic and tactical tasks, thriving in ambiguity.
- Outstanding work ethic, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated initiative and creativity.
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
