Our client is creating a venture studio for a dynamic global tech and digital company currently operating in stealth mode. They are looking to add 2 Research Analysts Venture Investing.
Our Mach 49 Venture Investing team operates as long-term Partners-in-Residence for both emerging and established venture capital funds launched by corporates, family offices, government entities, and more. We act as extensions of their team, attending Partner meetings and offering unbiased perspectives borne from decades of experience in venture capital and strategic investing. We provide critical insights throughout the entire venture capital lifecycle, from fund design to recruiting to deal sourcing/execution to portfolio management. We partner with our clients to disrupt existing markets and create new ones through a strategic mix of incubations, corporate venturing, and ecosystem creation.

The Role
As a Research Analyst, Venture Investing, you will directly support our external venturing leadership team and the funds they advise through market research, critical analysis, thought leadership, and building/maintaining our internal knowledge infrastructure.
*Please note this is not a direct investing role*
- Perform market research into a wide variety of industries, technologies, and companies to inform new and existing investment thesis development, including producing written research/analysis and sector presentations.
- Execute specific elements of the deal review process, including writing investment memos, quantitative analysis (e.g., financial modeling), competitor and market scans, customer interviews, and technology reviews.
- Support activities that extend the firm’s reach, including attending external events, supporting team gatherings, and contributing to thought leadership content.
- Manage internal pipeline and portfolio management tools, and contribute to internal-facing reporting on portfolio health and investment theses.
- Screen inbound partnership and investment candidates to recommend high-potential opportunities to firm leadership.
Your Experience
- 1- 4+ years of professional experience, ideally in technology, venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or corporate strategy (deal experience strongly preferred)
- Demonstrated critical thinking ability, including research and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
- Outstanding attention to detail and meticulous work product.
