You will then be able to attach your Resume/CV, as well as all other supporting documentation in the "My Experience" section of your application.Job DescriptionSUMMARY:Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research and Effectiveness, the Institutional Research Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, presenting, and interpreting institutional data to inform policy development, strategic planning, data-driven decision-making processes, and institutional effectiveness. The Specialist is also responsible for reporting institutional data on enrollment, academic program offerings, student financial aid, human resources, and financial data to internal and external audiences to support various functions within the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness (OIRE). The Institutional Research Specialist collaborates closely with team members on projects aimed at uncovering and leveraging data-driven and actionable insights that drive informed decisions and strategies across the University.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Extracts, verifies, and manipulates complex data sets, performs statistical analysis of data, interprets results, and organizes insights into meaningful reports that can be acted upon for internal and external constituencies.Assists in creating and maintaining dashboards and other data visualization projects to disseminate data and information effectively to campus constituencies.Assists in preparation and submission of institutional compliance reports to federal, state, and accrediting bodies, including IPEDS, NJ OSHE, and MSCHE, and external surveys, such as US News and World Report.Develops and maintains thorough documentations and syntax files to capture or automate data and business processes within the department.Assists in the creation and administration of Institutional online surveys in support of the University's assessment efforts.Assists in the collection and analysis of institutional data from diverse sources.Collaborates with team members on research projects to identify trends and insights.Work with Institutional data to respond to various ad hoc requests and monitor request progress.Maintains data integrity and ensure adherence to institutional policies regarding data management.Performs other duties as assigned.Management retains the right to add or change job duties at any time.QUALIFICATIONS:REQUIRED:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.Minimum of three years of experience in data reporting and business intelligence analytics.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.PREFERRED:Experience in institutional research in a higher education setting.Experience with large databases, quantitative analytical tools, including any of the following: SPSS, SAS, SQL, R or Python.Experience creating, modifying, and running queries in various data systems.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) with the ability to compile and analyze data in Excel.Familiarity with Google Sheets/Google Docs and the Qualtrics online survey tools.Familiarity with WordPress or a similar content management system.Familiarity with Banner and Workday enterprise data systems.PROCEDURE FOR CANDIDACYApplicants should include a resume and cover letter describing how their background, skills and education match the needs of the University.
