Being a Staff Data Engineer at iManage Means
You will play a key role for our Closing Folders product team at iManage. Closing Folders is used by customers around the world to manage complex legal transactions including high profile mergers and acquisitions. You will join a small, ultra-focused team where every developer is empowered to make a direct impact on the product and leadership is obsessed with taking the time to do things the right way.
Here is what one of our leaders, Senior Manager of Engineering (Jacob Nelson), has to say about the role: “In a typical week, you will implement and maintain the iManage Closing Folders data ecosystem. You will leverage these technologies to accomplish this: AWS (Athena, Glue and Lambda), Azure (Synapse, Data Pipelines, Spark Notebooks), Terraform, and Python (Django). You will also help business understand the data to help build visuals and insights into the data. You’ll be truly in a cross disciplinary role, working with backend developers, DevOps engineers, customer success managers, and other data teams.”
iM Responsible For
- Understanding our data architecture inside and out.
- Using Terraform to manage our data infrastructure.
- Writing Python code and working closely with source data from a Django application.
- Working with business users and customers through the entire lifecycle of delivering new views on our data.
- Maintaining our data pipeline flow from application to dashboards.
- Working with product teams to monitor and report on analytics of new features.
- Pairing with developers both junior and senior, mentoring and learning from others.
- Working with other data teams to integrate Closing Folder’s product data with other products.
iM Qualified Because I Have
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience working with data sourced from web-based software.
- Extensive experience with SQL and Python.
- Experience with any of the following is preferred but not required: AWS Data Ecosystem (Glue, Athena, etc.) and/or Azure Data Ecosystem (Synapse Analytics, Fabric, Pipelines, etc) and Data Visualization tools (QuickSight, Power BI, etc) and Terraform, Postgres, and Django.
