About the Role
Marketplace Investments team builds the platform for planning and optimizing incentive budgets at Uber. We seek to be at the center of marketplace spend, and your work will have a large impact at Uber. The combination of technical challenges and cross-functional work will allow you to grow as a software engineer in any dimension.
What the Candidate Will Do:
- Responsible for designing and developing the next generation of tools to drive and visualize investment decisions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, product & ops to enable and support the business
- Solve complex problems in web services and distributed systems
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field or Software Engineering work experience, which includes:
1-year full-time total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience coding in JavaScript or TypeScript, or experience coding in a general-purpose programming language (e.g. Java, Go)
- Experience working with web application development frameworks such as React, NodeJS, or similar
- Industry or academic experience building microservices and crafting APIs
- Passionate about developing web applications with a focus on frontend performance and user experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of proven experience in fullstack development
- Experience building reliable web services and distributed systems at scale
- Experience with HTTP/REST/GraphQL and web technologies like gRPC and Protobuf
- Programming language (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript)
- Modern JS framework (ES 6 or later)
- Industry or academic experience creating user interfaces and user experiences
- Static type systems
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$158,000 per year - USD$175,500 per year.
