As a Software Engineer on our Executions Team at Gelber, you will have a real opportunity to have a long-term career in Engineering at a successful trading firm. You will work side by side with other talented Engineers. This role is for someone who flourishes in a fast-paced environment, has a strong work ethic, is a clear communicator, and has a strong interest in the financial markets. This position will report directly into the Director of our Executions engineering team who reports directly into the Chief Technology Officer.
What you’ll do:
- Playing a significant role in design, implementation, and maintenance of proprietary C++ execution platform that powers algorithmic and discretionary trading at Gelber
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 1-3 years of experience coding in C++ on Linux is required
- Experience with Python is not required, but strongly preferred
- Experience with working with exchanges is a plus, but not required
- Strong communication skills specifically when it comes to understanding requirements and translating that into code
- Experience in the financial market domain, preferably from working in trading, banking, exchanges, or clearing is preferable, but not required
- Experience working in an agile environment is a plus
