We’re looking for a talented data thought leader who is passionate about changing the way people learn languages. You will own all the analytics and models related to the economics of a subscription business. This includes but is not limited to constructing methods to optimize the packages and prices for our services, forecasting our subscriber base and their value to Cambly, and building and maintaining key financial metrics. You will also be part of a burgeoning community of high quality data professionals where you will help set the processes and culture for a technically rigorous data organization.

Job Requirements
4+ years in industry experience and a Masters degree (PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
Experience in using machine learning and forecasting techniques to solve business problems and a deep understanding of ML lifecycle best practices (eg. training/serving, feature engineering, feature/model selection, labeling)
Experience designing and building metrics, from conception to data pipeline implementation
Ability to drive data strategies, with a central source of truth to impact business decisions
Expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R) and SQL
Proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
Proven ability to communicate clearly to audiences of varying technical levels
Preferred
8+ years of relevant industry experience
Experience in building ML applications for Finance
Experience with setting up experiments and/or utilizing non-experimental causal inference methods like regression analysis to inform business decisions.

This role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and the expected base salary range for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Compensation Package $160,000 - $190,000 USD Base Salary + Pre-IPO Stock Options
