Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services practice prides themselves in understanding their clients’ business strategy and needs; assisting companies in meeting business requirements related to valuation, risk management, transfer pricing, economic analysis, and model validation. Withum professionals help clients make forward-thinking decisions about strategy, operations, and compliance; and create long-lasting value.
We are currently seeking a Research Associate to join Withum’s Forensic and Valuation Services team in our Red Bank or our Saddle Brook, New Jersey, office. The Research Associate is a pivotal role that provides the necessary data research, organizational support, analysis and reporting necessary to support the FVS team, as well as the overall firm, with various industry research. This is not a remote position. The in-office expectation will include up to 5 days per week during the initial training period in our Red Bank office. After the initial training period, the expectation will be that the Research Associate spends 3 days in their home office of either Red Bank or Saddle Brook per week.

How you’ll spend your time:
- Assisting the Forensic and Valuation Services team and overall firm by providing industry research consisting of market, benchmarking, compensation and economic data
- Researching and preparing reports on the performances, challenges, outlook and other metrics for various industries as needed to be included in valuation reports
- Delivering information about targeted organizations and industries to practice professionals and business developers in advance of their meetings with potential targets
- Responding to data requests timely and efficiently
- Assisting in driving research initiatives and information gathering using a variety of approaches and sources
- Demonstrating the capability of working in a highly matrixed environment with professionals from varying levels and different departments
- Possessing both reactive and ultimately proactive skills in creating processes to assist the businesses efficiency and effectiveness, continuously seeking and suggesting ways to grow our research capabilities and resources
The kind of people we want to speak with have many of the following:
- Bachelor’s degree within the areas of Library Science, English, Journalism, Communication or equivalent field of studies
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in research
- Proficiency in the following software systems considered a plus: Kroll, IbisWorld, Business Valuation Research database, CapIQ, Pitchbook, ERI, RCReports and other salary databases; RMA, Microbilt and other benchmarking databases
- Strong multitasking and organizational skills
- Strong research skills required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency
- Ability to find ways to build efficiencies and effectiveness
- Strong client service / customer service orientation
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction and make proactive contributions
- Aptitude for identifying inefficiencies and creating processes to increase the quantity/quality of outcomes
- Must be approved to work in the US
