Boston Dynamics is looking for a highly motivated project management professional to join our deployment organization to manage installations across our robotics product lines. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate eagerness to learn and manage various aspects of the delivery process. Each Project Engineer will be involved in supporting multiple customer projects, installation timelines, and financial tracking with direct supervision. While focusing on a dynamic set of project requirements, this individual contributor will work directly with customer project managers, Boston Dynamics world class Field Applications Engineering teams, and manage third party vendors to keep our customers on schedule. To succeed in this role, you must be self motivated, have a positive attitude, be adaptable and be willing to take on an ever-changing list of tasks and responsibilities. This role has multiple growth paths into engineering program management, general management, or strategy roles.
Individual Contributor with the ability to learn and engage in general construction management and report status to multiple engineering disciplines.
Lead the project schedule/plan between the customer and field applications engineering teams while reporting status and risks to senior leaders.
Expertise in interpret AutoCAD drawings, electrical work instructions, and network diagrams to manage system installation.
Partner with Systems Engineering and Finance to improve project execution processes
Assist with site installation to include material logistics, material inventory, schedule tracking, and supervising subcontractors.
Work directly with senior team members to assist on larger program level templates and delivery models.
Develop expertise in all facets of our delivery model, network architecture offerings, and customer facility operations.
Learn to calculate critical paths, identify installation roadblocks, isolate the root cause, and move a solution forward to keep our timelines on track.
Support logistics and planning for Customer demonstrations, trade show interactions, and pilots.
Responsible individuals for identifying revenue milestone completion as it relates to the program plan and Revops reporting requirements.
Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience working in face paced technology integration.
Experience with schedule development, dependencies, and contingency planning.
Experience using various configuration management systems, ticket systems, and schedule tracking systems (JIRA, Smartsheet, Salesforce).
Previous project experience implementing complex interdisciplinary systems.
Strong communication skills in both spoken and written form.
Ability to adapt to project challenges in a fast paced, quickly changing environment.
Project exposure in the fields of robotic systems or material handling capex projects.
Project experience with unstructured robotic implementations and/or structured inspection solutions.
A strong track record of successful contribution to customer facing projects.
Experience with automation systems, control, and/or information management solutions is a plus.
Knowledge of testing, manufacturing, and quality control processes.
Smartsheet and/or Salesforce power users preferred.
Comfort with process development and goals that are not always formalized in writing.
Boston Dynamics HQ based (Waltham, MA), willing to travel up to 50% of the time
