ABOUT YOU AND THE ROLE
Ample is looking for tech-savvy team members who enjoy troubleshooting hardware and software systems. These are full-time roles with a San Francisco-based technology startup. These roles may include working: evenings, weekends & holidays.
As a Technical Operations Specialist,you will be responsible for resolving technical field escalations as well as shaping processes and tools to support your team. You will solve complex challenges that enable Ample to move into our next phase of energy delivery - these solutions will require thoughtfulness, creativity, and a drive to innovate. Your work will be directly impacting technical issue resolution, continuous operational improvement, and most importantly customer experience. You are process oriented and operate with a sense of urgency.
Ample delivers energy 7 days a week. The Operations team is specifically looking for members who can work evenings (up to 10pm) and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Remotely assist Tier 1 operations team with urgently resolving blocking technical issues encountered in the field
- Gather all relevant information and clearly document issues and resolutions in detail for root cause analysis
- Investigate non-blocking technical problems to identify patterns and proactively address them before they become failures
- Work with engineering team to understand ongoing technical issues and implement fixes quickly in the field
- Advocate internally on behalf of the customer to get key issues prioritized and permanently resolved
- Perform commissioning, testing, and other hands on work in the field as needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred: college degree (BA/BS or Associates), technical or STEM
- 1-3 years of experience in a technical field; technical troubleshooting experience preferred, experience with robotic systems and/or light programming a plus
- Tech-savvy: ability to investigate, understand, and resolve issues associated with complex technical products, including robotics and batteries
- Hands-on: willingness to roll-up your sleeves to help the team solve a technical problem
- Able to follow detailed technical debugging procedures associated with Ample’s technology (Linux/Unix)
- Ability to give and receive clear verbal and written communication
- A continuous improvement approach, adapting quickly and acting with a strong sense of urgency
- Can-do attitude, enthusiasm for leadership and growth, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to perform light physical work
- Experience with electric vehicles a plus
