SUMMARY
The Associate Electrical & Controls Engineer will expand the sale and rental of temporary and portable control systems for dewatering equipment. The candidate will accomplish this by assisting sales, application engineering, service and operations with equipment selection, pumping control system design and troubleshooting technical issues. The Associate Electrical & Controls Engineer will enter a 12-18 month program of onboarding that will introduce the engineer to essential requirements of the job through training and mentorship by more senior level controls and application engineers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare submittal documents for customers
- Develop control system layout and wiring schematic drawings in AutoCAD
- Provide assistance to field technicians during job startups
- Review product specifications to select pump and control related equipment
- Troubleshoot performance issues with rental equipment
- Perform job walks with sales personnel and answer technical questions for employees and customers
- Assist with control system performance testing
- Complete Pumps 101 training
- Participate in 8-week apprenticeship in electrical and mechanical shop activities

- Basic understanding of fluid hydraulics
- Ability to read and comprehend electrical wiring diagrams
- General knowledge of diesel engines, pumps and control systems
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize, meet deadlines and work independently with initiative in a fast paced environment
- Ability to collaborate and build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Ability to travel frequently with little notice and for extended periods of time
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE -Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil) or Computer Science
- Entry level to 3 years experience in related field; experience within construction, industrial, municipal or mining industries preferred

- Travel: As required to fulfill the duties listed above. The application engineer will need to travel to regional branches or job sites 1-2 times per quarter, or as projects require. Other travel as needed or required by the company.
Salary range:
$82,000.00 - $131,000.00
