About the role
Mooji Meats (YCombinator W22) is creating Meat 2.0, the next generation of ethical and sustainable meat. We go beyond ground meat alternatives and create whole cuts with an authentic texture. This is enabled by ground-breaking innovations in 3D Printing and an excellent team of scientists and engineers.
We spun out of Harvard University, and have some of the best investors and industry partners on board. We are currently getting ready to scale our flagship product, an award-winning vegan ribeye, and are looking for outstanding people to join the effort!
The job
- A little bit of everything (we’re small and everybody wears multiple hats)
- Work on scaling our product and our process. This includes everything from making our current process run better to planning how it will run at pilot and factory scales.
- Build (and design) things that need building. This includes test equipment and rigs, custom parts for our production line, and even potential equipment layouts for large-scale production
- Systematize everything! Help prepare common tasks and processes for rapid growth. This includes everything from procurement to fulfillment to SOPs for equipment use and beyond
- Taste everything and provide feedback on latest product iterations, crazy flavor ideas, and more.
- Work onsite at both our production facility and our headquarters/research facility in Baltimore, MD
- Capable of being largely independent within the first 6 months
Your qualifications (all “preferred” unless otherwise noted)
- A mechanical or chemical engineering degree
- Experience in the food industry (up to 2 yrs)
- Experience with CPG (up to 2 yrs)
- Experience with manufacturing (up to 2 yrs)
- Required: Driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel between production facility and headquarters
- Required: Desire to grow and learn new skills
- Required: Ability to work on a team/strong interpersonal skills
- Required: Willingness to pitch in with anything and ask questions about everything
