We’re looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with deep product sense, a knack for demystifying the ambiguous, and the horsepower to turn product specs into reality. By joining our lean engineering team, everything you do has the ability to make a real, measurable impact on our students’ careers and lives, and ultimately change the future of education.
You'll help plan and develop consumer facing features as well as tools for internal use and have a say in key decisions regarding our product roadmap. In this role you’ll report directly to our Head of Engineering.
What You’ll Do:Collaborate with our team to build, test and ship the consumer-facing product features and internal tools that power nearly all aspects of the business and help us to grow & scaleMake important architectural decisions that will help shape and scale our APIs and systems (platform, personalization, community, growth, education, certifications) as our company growsBuild new features for internal and external stakeholders (students, alumni, mentors, and partner companies)Bring a sense of ownership, demonstrate craftsmanship, enjoy collaboration, and have the drive to make an impactHelp develop & foster our engineering culture through thoughtful mentorship, knowledge sharing and demonstrative application of technical best practicesDesign, test, and ship great code everyday
What You'll Bring:3+ years of relevant software engineering experience, bonus points if at a high-growth startupStrong knowledge of our core technologies: JavaScript (React, Node), Python (Django)Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (coding standards, code reviews, testing, continuous integration)Excitement for full ownership of projects and ability to take a project from scoping requirements through actual launchProduct sense and a user-orientated focusPassion for education and access to economic opportunity for people from non-traditional and underrepresented backgrounds
