The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization headquartered in Richmond, VA, is in search of our
Business Intelligence Engineer.
As a Business Intelligence Engineer, you will develop and implement data and analytics strategies to enhance decision-making across the organization. You will collaborate with stakeholders to design data warehousing solutions, manage reporting and dashboard systems, enforce data governance, and advance our Community of Learning for Data and Analytics.

Responsibilities:- Engage with stakeholders and analysts to define BI semantic models and develop data models (conceptual, logical, and physical).
- Inform and implement BI strategies, including designing reference architectures for data warehousing and optimizing storage and accessibility.
- Develop and enforce best practices for report and dashboard design, ensuring alignment with security and efficiency standards.
- Oversee the accuracy, performance, and security of BI solutions while maintaining organizational data governance standards.
- Guide complex ETL/ELT processes to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading from diverse data sources.
- Collaborate with analysts and data stewards to expand the Community of Learning for Data and Analytics and promote adherence to analytics standards.
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or related roles.
- Advanced proficiency in data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Expertise in SQL, relational databases, and data visualization tools (Power BI preferred).
- Knowledge of data pipeline tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory), data warehousing (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics), and analytical languages (Python or R).
- Familiarity with lakehouses/data lakes and Microsoft Azure services.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and customer service orientation.
- Project and process management skills with a focus on documentation and organization.
