About the role: iCapital’s Technology department includes multiple teams dedicated to creating an industry-leading platform that manages the full life cycle of alternative investments. The Platform Infrastructure team delivers and manages highly available, extremely automated deployment systems within a cloud architecture with an infrastructure-as-code philosophy. The team consists of three subgroups, Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps Engineering and Cloud Architecture. These teams manage several Kubernetes Clusters and a host of interconnected services across several AWS regions. Work closely with Engineering to help design and onboard new services and craft their deployment strategy within GitLab as we deploy to EKS, Lambda and ECS. Assist with operational support of the cloud architectures, such as helping troubleshoot pipeline issues, examining a slow API response time using our existing tooling, or logging into a container within a pod to understand why the service hasn’t started. Write Terraform code to add or modify some critical infrastructure components, such as adding new services or modifying application permissions to access them. Work with data engineers to help modify or create a data pipeline as part of MLOps activities. Help with a proof of concept of a new DevOps or SRE tool to streamline or advance visibility into the environment. Help construct and improve an entire infrastructure in a new AWS region. Valued qualities and key skills: Experience with one programming language, ideally Python, Ruby or Java Confident in a Linux-only environment Exposure to AWS ideally, or Azure or GCP An eager, analytical and thoughtful learner who enjoys understanding how systems work from a broad perspective Great communication skills: infrastructure groups take pride in teaching and learning from one another Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment Able to adapt to new responsibilities and manage competing priorities Technologically proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) Strong verbal and written communication skills What we offer: Outings with iCapital team members and fellow interns to build connections and grow your network.
