DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and manage our hosting environment, ensuring secure, reliable, and high-performing systems. In this role, you will collaborate with development and IT teams to support robust websites and web applications while adhering to best practices in connectivity, security, and system integrity.
Key Responsibilities:- System Administration: Manage and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Rocky) and ensure stable patch levels.
- Automation and Deployment: Use modern configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet) and scripting languages (PHP, Python, Ruby, Bash) to automate workflows and streamline deployments.
- Security and Compliance: Enforce company and client security standards, manage network access control, and ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 policies.
- Collaboration: Work with developers, IT teams, clients, and vendors to deliver secure, high-performance applications and resolve operational issues.
- Monitoring and Optimization: Analyze system logs, monitor performance, and implement improvements for secure, efficient operations.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network configurations, security policies, and system updates.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications (Preferred): Linux Professional Institute (LPI), Red Hat, or equivalent UNIX/Linux certifications.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in UNIX/Linux systems administration or DevOps roles.
- Proficiency with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and hands-on experience in Puppet configuration management
- Strong scripting skills in PHP, Python, Ruby, or Bash.
Additional Skills:- Experience with hosting secure, scalable websites and applications.
- Familiarity with security policies, including data backups, network access control, and outward-facing system compliance.
- Effective use of helpdesk tools, project management platforms, and knowledge bases.
Working Conditions:- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. (with assistance).
- Extended periods of computer work; occasional off-hours work for projects or service restoration.
- Minimal travel required.
