WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Rasgo is looking for an experienced engineer who is passionate about building a world-class product and who excels at fast-paced development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background developing APIs, delivering solutions quickly using Python and SQL, and collaboratively designing minimum-viable
products to address specific user needs . A firm grasp of software engineering best practices will be very important in this role. We all love what we do at Rasgo and hope you will too.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As a member of the Engineering Team, you'll partner with our Founders to play a critical role in developing the foundational product and beyond. This is a rare chance to help invent a new way of doing cloud data prep with a next-gen solution enabled by the latest cloud data warehouse technologies. In a typical week, you will take customer-requested features from concept to deployed code. Key activities include:
- Communicating closely with the product team to fully understand "who" you're building for and the "why" behind what you're building
- "Dice Rolling" new production functionality (i.e. getting MVP code in production on a daily basis so we can learn from it)
- Contributing to the product backend (writing API code in python, writing database code in SQL)
- Contributing to our Python SDKs
- Writing SQL templates that will be consumed in the product
- Extending our product to support new cloud data warehouses
- Supporting our Customer Success team to work directly with customer's data
- Building an incredible team culture that revolves around accountability, humility, and customer results
MUST HAVES
- Expert-level proficiency in modern service oriented architecture, ideally cloud native
- Senior-level proficiency with Python or similar backend languages
- Senior-level proficiency creating and maintaining APIs (preferably using fastAPI)
- Proficiency in SQL and common database technologies
- Thought leadership in your domain and active collaboration with a team of seniors
- Experience working on a small team (preferably a start-up) with full responsibility for rapid delivery
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a remote environment
- At least 5 years of experience in software development
NICE TO HAVES
- Proficiency with React js or similar javascript frameworks
- Proficiency with multiple cloud data warehouses (Snowflake or BigQuery preferred)
- Proficiency with Postgres
- Proficiency with SQLAlchemy or other ORMs
- Proficiency with AWS, specifically S3
- Familiarity with dbt (Data Build Tool)
- Customer Support experience
- A strong desire to have fun while we crush work
- A healthy contempt for Agile
