This internship provides hands-on experience in using PowerBI software to compile and present complex data to senior and executive-level leadership while contributing to meaningful healthcare improvements.This is a Restricted 3-Month Internship DurationThe student intern will:• Gain exposure to the healthcare industry, with a focus on quality improvement and regulatory compliance.• Advance their skills in PowerBI and data management.• Participate in the Malcolm Baldrige Performance Excellence Program.• Obtain real-world experience working with healthcare professionals to drive performance improvement.• Have an opportunity to present key findings to senior and executive leadership, impacting hospital-wide initiatives.• Present Quality Performance Improvement Committee outcomes to leadership.• Develop data reports using various software systems.Key Responsibilities:• Collect data from medical records, facility databases, and other sources to compile and process reports supporting Quality Management and Hospital Administration:• Manage the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Program, tracking, investigating, and working to prevent adverse events while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.• Plan, conduct, and document Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) using tools like Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA):• Facilitate work groups addressing sentinel event alerts issued by The Joint Commission and other safety initiatives.• Collect and report data for various regulatory and oversight bodies, including dLCV, LHRC, and Seclusion/Restraint reporting.• Conduct monthly data reviews (data mining) of Seclusion/Restraint episodes, identify trends, and propose corrective actions.Additional Responsibilities:• Provide education to healthcare providers to ensure compliance with quality standards and industry parameters.• Translate complex quality data and outcomes into understandable, actionable insights for healthcare teams.• Manage multiple data repositories, ensuring accuracy, and create detailed reports with recommendations for hospital leadership. Minimum Qualifications • Students interested in data analytics, healthcare, and quality management.• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
