The Data Analyst I, Data & Reporting, is a member of the Advancement Services program and reports to the Director of Philanthropy Analytics and Data Architecture. The Advancement Services program maintains and strengthens Philanthropy’s infrastructure by managing, analyzing, and leveraging the data needed to inform organizational strategy and conduct the operations that engage and steward Fred Hutch stakeholders. The Data Analyst role supports operational and administrative activities in support of revenue and program goals, working internally across programs and with external partners to ensure best practices in fundraising and donor impact. This role will have the opportunity to work partially at our campus and remotely. Responsibilities Develop a thorough understanding of the data and domain logic applicable to Philanthropy. Acquire knowledge of preapproved business intelligence tool set functionality and options. Acquire best practices and reporting knowledge for working with both relational and dimensional models. Utilizing approved BI tools translate written requirement documents into appropriate reporting artifacts. Prepare for and actively participate in design and development reviews. Strictly adhere to established reporting guidelines and standards. Assist in preparing work estimates for assigned projects. Meet required deadlines as outlined by project team and business partners. Prepare documentation for deployment purposes and respond to any implementation issues as needed to ensure quality deliverable has been met. Assist the data team in tracking down/debugging potential data quality issues. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors in Information Systems, Finance or Accounting or equivalent experience. Knowledge of relational databases and SQL. Sharp analytical abilities, proven design skills and problem solving skills. Enjoys working in a team environment and has a proven record of positive contributions to the work of the team. Coordination and working knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum), time estimates and allocation. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledgeable about report development in a data warehousing environment. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, Microsoft SQL Server, Smartsheet, Confluence, Tableau. Expertise and knowledge of gathering and documenting analytic/reporting requirements. Accounting and/or Finance experience highly beneficial. The hourly pay range for this position is from $31.21 to $46.80 and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
