Lead AI Engineer (DSCAA)

How will I help?
The role works within delivery squads focusing on building and operationalizing AI applications and ML models that will further enhance our service and product offerings.
The role will be responsible for engineering design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and gen-ai agentic applications that solve complex problems and enhance our products and services. This role will work closely with data scientists, analysts, software engineers, and product managers to integrate machine learning solutions into production systems.
Role responsibilities include:
- Lead the engineering design and implementation of Gen-AI, ML or hybrid solutions in collaboration with delivery team,
- Lead the implementation of full-stack Gen-AI or ML solutions to address various use cases such as autonomous agents, chatbots, data processing, APIs,
- Design and implementation of data processing patterns, pipelines and APIs for batch, real-time and streaming,
- Design and implementation of Gen-AI solutions using various frameworks, prompting techniques, RAG patterns, fine tuning and testing of LLM & Gen-AI applications,
- Design and implementation of cloud-based services as part of the services enabling the ML/Gen-AI based solutions,
- Design and implementation of software components related to streamlining build and operationalisation of LM or Gen-AI based solutions,
- Design and implementation of frontend & backend applications to facilitate the user experience
- Conduct research to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Gen-AI, machine learning and big-data processing and apply new techniques to improve existing models,
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Gen-AI applications, model performance and deployment,
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Gen-AI, machine learning or hybrid solutions into products and services,
Mentor, coach and support other engineers to support their development and improve engineering quality.

What do I need?
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field,
- Proven hands-on experience on relevant tooling and methodologies across DevSecOps, Data Science, Big-Data processing, and software engineering disciplines,
- Proven hands-on experience in design & implementation of data pipelines for batch, real-time and streaming,
- Proven hands-on experience in developing Gen-AI solutions, including design patterns applicable to Gen-AI applications, prompting techniques, RAG, agentic patterns,
- Proven hands-on experience with building full stack solutions on cloud, including azure, aws and GCP. Knowledge of infrastructure deployment and management is a plus,
- Experience in fine tuning LLMs, including techniques, frameworks and best practices,
- Proven hands-on experience with containerisation and relevant patterns to build and operate such applications,
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and data visualization techniques,
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn,
- Experience building solutions leveraging frameworks such as LlamaIndex, LangChain, AutoGen, DSPy, etc.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation in Jenking, Github and Bamboo,
- Experience with IaaC & configuration management tools such Terraform and Chef,
- Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar for data processing and feature engineering,
- Experience with implementing solutions on Azure Machine Learning, Synapse and Azure AI Services
- Familiarity with Graph databases and their usage pattern
- Experience in backend & frontend development using Nodejs, and React
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as bash, powershell,
- Have certification on Azure & AWS for solution design,
Experience with A/B testing and experimental design.
