We are seeking a meticulous and organized Payroll Assistant to join our payroll department. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting payroll operations, ensuring all employees are paid accurately and on time, and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist in processing payroll for all employees, including reviewing timesheets and verifying hours worked.
• Enter and update payroll data in the payroll system accurately.
• Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit notifications.
• Address payroll-related inquiries from employees and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations regarding payroll.
• Maintain and organize payroll records, ensuring data confidentiality.
• Assist with preparing tax filings, W-2 forms, and other related documents.
• Collaborate with HR and accounting departments to ensure seamless payroll processes.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree or relevant certification is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Payroll Assistant, Payroll Clerk, or in a similar role.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and software (e.g., ADP, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Basic knowledge of payroll principles, laws, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
