Software Developer in our
ESS Scale & Fulfill Manufacturing Operations Team! The preferred locations for this position are
Houston, TX or
Midland, MI, however virtual office within the United States can also be considered.
In this role, you will design, develop, and support solutions and processes to meet business needs and requirements across M&E and R&D. You will work in a business process or implementation team to apply general knowledge of Information Systems.
This will require conceptual knowledge of theories, practices, and procedures as well as having general business knowledge developed through education or prior experience related to your discipline and functional area. You will need to have the ability to exchange straightforward information with others and ask questions to check for understanding.
It is your responsibility to use established procedures and practice to analyze and resolve standard problems. You will be accountable for assigned contributions with no direct supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts your own work with limited impact on your team. You will need to use established procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities- Gather and analyze business requirements for assigned functional and technical areas.
- Work closely with business process teams, technical teams and other stakeholders to design and build objects which meet requirements.
- Develop applications (frontend and backend), API, data models and integrations that are sustainable and supportable.
- Document detailed designs.
- Build, test and implement application objects.
- Assist with issue resolution.
- Help ensure that functional and technical designs meet business requirements, conform to Dow architecture standards, and optimize productivity and long-term product/system vision.
Qualifications- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in IT preferred or at least 5 years of relevant working experience or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience.
- A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred Skills- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical field.
- Recent experience designing and deploying in Microsoft Azure's Environment.
- Proficient knowledge in front-end and back-end development.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Agile software development methodologies and work processes, especially Scrum.
- Participated in application development process from requirements through implementation.
- Excellent Leadership & Communication Skills.
- Familiarity with Code and Frameworks from recent developments: ASP.NET, C#, Java, Angular, HTML, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, Bicep, Playwright, Prefect.
- Familiarity with Common Azure Cloud Services: Azure Web App, Azure App Service, Key Vault, Azure Entra ID, App Insights, SQL, Cosmos DB, Functions, Kubernetes, Data Factory, Azure ML, API Manager and more.
- Experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub; Experience deploying code, managing artifacts, release pipelines, branching strategies, and secure code.
- Experience with application testing (Integration/Functional/End-to-end).
