SCOPE OF POSITIONWe are looking for a detail-oriented Building Automation Project Manager with experience in building or industrial controls who is eager to take on a dynamic role. This role involves overseeing all aspects of building automation system (BAS) projects, ensuring quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with sales, design, and operations teams and serve as a key point of contact for clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD: - Proven experience managing and executing BAS projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
- Knowledgeable in DDC applications related to the HVAC industry, and familiar with the Niagara platform or Delta Controls.
- Strong technical and communication skills to effectively coordinate with all stakeholders.
- Experience in pricing BAS jobs, developing system designs, and creating accurate project drawings.
- Familiarity with built-up mechanical systems, including central plants and VAV air systems.
- Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and programming BAS systems, including graphics development.
- Knowledge of computer networking (routers, switches, IP connections) and electrical systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Project Design & Planning: Assist in the design, layout, and pricing of BAS systems to meet client requirements and budget.
- Documentation & Submittals: Provide accurate project drawings, develop submittals, and ensure that documentation aligns with project timelines and quality standards.
- Budget & Schedule Management: Ensure that all projects stay on budget and on schedule, proactively managing resources and coordinating with subcontractors as needed.
- Project Execution & Quality Control: Manage the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of BAS systems, conducting regular site inspections and a final quality review upon project completion.
- Programing & Graphics: Assist with programming BAS sequences of operation and developing graphical interfaces, ensuring they meet client specifications.
- Technology & Purchasing Support: Stay current on technological advancements within our control lines and assist purchasing in ordering necessary parts for project execution.
- Invoicing & Billing: Maintain up-to-date invoicing on projects, managing billing issues with clients and accounting until resolved.
- Client Communication & Relationship Management: Effectively communicate technical information to clients and maintain positive relationships to facilitate growth and trust with the organization.
- Issue Resolution: Address and resolve warranty issues promptly to ensure ongoing client satisfaction.
- Team Coordination: Conduct weekly team meetings to review open items, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely project updates.
- Scheduling & Subcontractor Management: Coordinate subcontractor work, ensuring schedules align with project timelines and quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS: - 3+ years of experience in building automation or industrial controls, with experience in project management preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Automation, or related field (preferred).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar (preferred).
- Proficiency in BAS programming, DDC applications, and relevant software platforms.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and timelines.
