TIRTA Ventures, a leading early-stage venture capital firm specializing in the video game industry, is seeking a talented and driven individual to join our team as an Associate. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, supporting our investment activities in the gaming sector. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of prior experience in consulting, venture capital, and/or strategy/business development within the video game industry and a genuine passion for gaming and technology. The candidate will be the first associate-level hire for the firm and will have significant opportunities for growth and promotion.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis of the gaming industry, including market trends, emerging technologies, and potential investment opportunities.
- Evaluate investment proposals, perform due diligence (e.g., TAM analysis, financial modeling, risk assessment), and create investment memos for review by the investment committee.
- Assist in deal sourcing efforts, identifying potential investment targets and building relationships with key stakeholders in the gaming ecosystem, traveling when necessary
- Create fundraising materials and assist in communication with the fund’s limited partners.
- Support portfolio companies by providing strategic guidance and operational support, leveraging your expertise in gaming and business development.
- Stay updated on industry news, gaming conferences, and events to identify industry trends and potential investment opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong network within the gaming industry, building relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and other venture capital firms.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of prior experience in consulting or strategy/business development within the gaming industry.
- Passion for gaming and technology (must play games!), with a deep understanding of the gaming industry and its various segments, including emerging artificial intelligence trends.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform in-depth market research and financial analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas in a clear and concise manner.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to take initiative and think creatively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (business/finance/economics, computer science etc.)
