Who You Are
Galaxy Digital Ventures is hiring uniquely talented Analysts/Associates to join the Investment team. Investing in crypto is a multidisciplinary activity, which – throughout a team – requires expertise in computer science, financial analysis, mechanism design, governance, trading and markets, and consumer behavior. We’re looking for candidates who are “spiky” in one area or candidates who are well-rounded across the board.

The Galaxy Digital Ventures Investment team comes from many backgrounds, from STEM to the Social Sciences. Candidates will uniformly love to see the big picture, debate complex topics, and appreciate intellectual rigor.
- Analyst – studying financial metrics, business models, and deal structures.
- Technician – understanding protocol and application design and differentiating between solutions.
- Data Scientist– seeing the trends as they exist today and predicting their trajectories.
- Communicator – fostering and maintaining relationships with founders and partners.
Despite the nascent nature of crypto, there are numerous focus areas that you can specialize in. Every day people realize the intersection of new fields with blockchain, such as generative art to network contagion, group dynamics to zero-knowledge proofs. - Consumer / Web3 -Applications of web3 technology and mainstream use cases.
- NFTs – Use cases of Non-Fungible Tokens: collectibles; media; music; creator economy.
- DeFi – Finacial applications of blockchains: borrowing/lending; trading; payments; risk.
- Protocol – Sharding and scalability design; Virtual machines and programming languages.
- Deep Tech – MEV, Zero Knowledge proofs, novel consensus, cryptography.
- Mining / Staking – Economics of blockchain security; sybil-resistance infrastructure.
- Infrastructure– market structure: custody, exchanges, and data & analytics companies.
- Software-as-a-service –software products to improve usability, performance, and cost.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct diligence on investment opportunities alongside Investment Partners.
- Write investment memos.
- Analyze financial metrics and performance.
- Study technological mechanisms and compare/contrast.
- Evaluate legal agreements.
- Evaluate founders, executives, and team.
- Source new investment opportunities through personal network, reach outs, and interaction with community.
- Develop coherent theses and predictions about market, and identity companies, protocols, and web3 applications which suit the thesis.
- Technical candidates: write Solidity code, demo portfolio company technology, and analyze codebases.
What We’re Looking For
- 1-2 years’ experience working a relevant area, like crypto technology, web2 technology, venture capital, investment banking/consulting, or academic research. Other backgrounds welcome.
- Top tier academic track record or demonstrated non-academic achievement.
- Significant expertise in cryptocurrency and blockchain, either through relevant work experience or personal projects.
- Comfortable building relationships both inside and outside Galaxy Digital Ventures, including with startup founders.
- Favored traits: rigor, work ethic, and kindness.
- Have interacted “on-chain” via MetaMask in DeFi, NFTs, etc.
Bonus Points
- Started and scaled a company, particularly in crypto/web3.
- Master’s or higher in a technical field: distributed computing, cryptography,
- Experience in game theory and mechanism design, particularly computational game theory or mechanism design.
- Strong existing crypto or venture network.
