Trestle’s first fund is $30mm (raised in 2020) and nearing full deployment. Through June 2022, the fund has returned nearly as much capital to LPs as it has called and has generated a 102% net IRR.
Job Description
We are looking for a full-time associate to become a key member of our New York-based investment team. This person will play a critical role in analyzing, sourcing, and executing investments. This individual will help lead due diligence for new investments, collaborate with existing and prospective portfolio company management teams, and perform reporting and analysis related to existing VC investments and new opportunities.
The professional will take a large part in driving pre-investment research process, which entails
conducting diligence calls and customer surveys, running alternative scenarios for financial projections, building valuation models, and writing research reports. Additionally, the candidate would take on a critical role in the sourcing process. This opening represents Trestle’s first hire and the opportunity to join a fast-growing investment platform as a cornerstone member of the team. The role will be hybrid in-person / remote.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
▪ A degree from a top-tier university
▪ 2 years of investment banking or principal investing experience
▪ Strong quantitative and analytical skills
▪ Strong modeling skills
▪ Excellent writing and presentation skills
▪ Strong interpersonal skills
▪ A desire to take the lead on deal sourcing responsibilities
▪ Attention to detail
▪ A high level of professional maturity and a solid work ethic
▪ An ability to fit into a small team and highly demanding work environment
