Primary Venture Partners is looking for an Operations Manager to join its team, reporting into the Chief of Staff.

The Ops Manager will work hand-in-hand with the Chief of Staff and other cross-functional team members on both portfolio-facing matters and internal operations. Externally, the Ops Manager will own Founder Operations, cultivating our community of founders and CEOs. Internally, the Ops Manager will drive key priorities and special projects aimed at boosting employee engagement, shaping culture and unlocking organizational efficiencies at a pivotal point in Primary’s growth.
About the role
Specific responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:
What you’ll do for the Founders:
- Conduct NPS and CSAT surveys for founders and synthesize results to provide recommendations and ownership for how to drive continuous improvement
- Own new portfolio company onboarding and refine the surrounding processes
- Plan and facilitate events and programs (e.g. Founder dinners, CEO roundtable discussions, functional deep dive lunch and learns)
- Own and maintain the founder resource library with playbooks, evergreen content, etc.
- Manage the CEO listserv and broader founder communications
- Track Impact activity in our CRM system and managing relevant reporting
What you’ll do for the Firm:
- Support firm-wide operations, including strategic planning and KPI process management as well as the management of our operating cadence, including recurring meetings
- Manage special projects as they arise, with an eye to supporting our team of Partners and the Chief of Staff
- Support the implementation of our HR strategy to continue to level up all aspects of the employee experience at Primary, including DEI, L&D (learning and development) and performance management
- Track employee engagement and drive the implementation of employee engagement survey insights across the firm
- Own the employee onboarding process end-to-end and support hiring efforts across the firm as needed
- Enable internal communication and team events, including the content and logistics of our monthly all-hands meetings and quarterly offsites as well as other culture-building initiatives
- Create, update and enforce HR policies, e.g. on employee safety and wellbeing initiatives
- Maintain and own the internal Primary Wiki
- Provide ad hoc support on LP/ Investor Relations initiatives as needed
Qualified candidates must demonstrate extremely strong executive presence and previous work experience interfacing with senior-level customers, investors, or other partners in a high-touch capacity. Experience organizing and engaging communities is a huge plus.
About you
- 2-4 years of experience in operations, startups, management consulting or related fields
- Detail-oriented and exceptionally organized, with strong project management chops and confidence handling complex work-streams simultaneously
- Significant experience interfacing with senior leaders, managing up, and following through
- Experience managing communities and planning events.
- Self-starting, solutions-orientated and thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound judgment, a high degree of professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
All candidates must be available to work at least 3 days a week at Primary’s office in NYC.
Compensation is market competitive and will include upside in our fund. The targeted range is $100-$110K.
