The Role:
As part of the financial operations team, you will play a critical role as the center point of the firms financial and accounting practices. You will be responsible for managing the internal financial footprint of the firm, and help manage reporting to our limited partners. Individuals in this role supercharge our investment team by creating and managing processes that deliver world-class services and experiences to investors. This role will engage across all functions at Conversion Capital, and be a critical input to our ongoing portfolio engagement. This role is a balance between critical financial oversight and sharp execution.
Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Oversee preparation of fund and management company financial statements
- Coordinate finance activities including quarterly reporting for the funds, management company and portfolio companies; ensure that accurate, timely analysis and reporting of financial information is in line with the firm’s goals and objectives;
- Financial reporting requirements including post-closing aggregation of data; and
- Identify and stay abreast of changes in GAAP that impact the firm’s accounting and reporting.
Fund & Portfolio Management:
- Cash management, including monitoring cash balances, capital requirements, investment funding, manage reserves, etc.;
- Management of complex legal agreements, including limited partnership agreements and portfolio company deal documents, including communication of pertinent information to firm employees;
- Documentation of funds and determining payouts to management and shareholders as well as handling of preferred interest, dividends and capital calls;
- Assist in the maintenance of Limited Partnership relationships and oversee communications regarding investor meetings, due diligence and fundraising, distributions and other communications;
- Allocation and maintenance of distribution waterfalls for the funds and management company;
- Maintenance of portfolio company shares, options, etc. in CARTA database; and
- Ad-hoc financial modeling as required/requested.
Treasury & Cash Management:
- Cash management, including monitoring cash balances, capital requirements, investment funding, manage reserves, etc.
Audit & Tax Matters:
- Seek opportunities to optimize portfolio company returns and minimize tax liabilities of the funds and management company with efficient tax planning strategies;
- Supervise fund audits and tax matters; and
- Work closely with external parties, including auditors and tax professionals, attorneys, and limited partners.
Exempt Reporting Advisor Compliance:
- Assess and update firm’s compliance policies and procedures as required; and
- Prepare periodic compliance filings and documentation.
Back Office Administration:
- Establish best practices: document policies & procedures, treasury and accounting controls, catalogue of entities and org charts, EINs, legal docs, etc., financial schedules, due diligence questionnaire template, data room items, etc.; and
- Oversight of various firm administrative and office needs, including benefits and other aspects of human resources, IT, facilities, office lease, supply agreements, office management.
- Additional projects, assignments, and services as requested by the Managing Partners of the Company

Qualifications:
- 4-6+ years of experience in financial accounting with a strong focus on Venture Capital
- Financial Planning, Financial Statements, and Financial Reporting skills
- Analytical Skills
- Experience in finance and investment
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Strong understanding of venture capital industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus
