Reporting to the Head of NYL Ventures, you will play a critical role at the center of our team supporting our three main functions (Investments, Start-up Business Development, Innovation Services) as well as our large and growing community of start-ups and partners. An integral member of the Senior Leadership team, you will have responsibility for advancing key strategic initiatives. You will be an active cultivator of the NYL Ventures community in support of the overarching mission of NYLV.
With direct oversight over project execution, administration, communications and community, you will serve as a central hub of information relating to our operations, goals and results. This role requires attention to detail, stellar communication skills, a marketing orientation and a relentlessly positive attitude. You will thrive in a dynamic team-oriented environment and draw energy from operating proactively to keep the group humming and growing. Responsibilities:
- Provide operational support to the Head of NYLV, including oversight and project management of key departmental initiatives often with cross functional teams
- Collaboratively manage NYLV’s communications and community strategy (including all internal and external communications, PR, planning and execution of events, digital asset management, social media management and team building)
- Organize and manage the strategic planning process with the NYLV senior leadership team by collaboratively working to establish, communicate and track ongoing goals and metrics
- Manage reporting and metric tracking for NYLV, including data management and analysis, presentation development, storytelling and the creation/dissemination of collateral to key stakeholders
- Manage ad hoc day-to-day projects and operational demands, closely interfacing with the NYLV staff, NYL business/control colleagues and external partners
- Recommend agendas and shepherd execution of immediate next-steps and deliverables

Requirements:
- 5-10 years of relevant experience
- Proven execution of projects from inception to completion with high attention to detail
- Excellent, executive level communication skills (oral and written)
- Strong presentation development and execution skills (including powerpoint)
- Strong interest and understanding of (corporate) venture capital, innovation, technology and the start-up ecosystem
- Relationship oriented with a proven ability to cultivate a diverse network
- Technologically fluent and curious (Bonus: Data management, data modeling and/or design)
- Team player with the ability to be independently accountable and collectively proud
- Confident operating within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
- Previous Chief of Staff or Head of Platform experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
