The Role
We are looking for a Director of Platform to join our venture capital fund and lead our platform strategy and operations. You will be responsible for creating value for our portfolio companies, our investors, and our ecosystem by providing them with the best resources, services, and opportunities.
As a Director of Platform for Christie’s Ventures, you will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and execute the platform vision, strategy, and roadmap, aligned with the fund’s goals and values.
- Build and manage a platform team that can deliver high-quality and scalable programs and initiatives across various domains, such as talent, marketing, business development, community, events, content, education, and more.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with our portfolio companies, investors, partners, mentors, advisors, and other stakeholders in the ecosystem.
- Identify and evaluate new opportunities and partnerships that can enhance our platform offering and value proposition.
- Measure and communicate the impact and ROI of our platform activities and initiatives, using data-driven insights and feedback.
- Stay on top of the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in the venture capital and startup space.
Specific duties & responsibilities will include but are not limited to
Portfolio Company Management
- Collaborate with Ventures Deal team on processes for hand off and onboarding of companies we invest in
- Collaborate with Venture Company CEOs on regular flow of information into Christie’s
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure that companies we invest in are properly integrated *where applicable* into the Christie’s ecosystem
Portfolio Company Reporting and PR
- Spearhead regular reporting of portfolio company data and financials to IC
- Collaborate with PR on the strategy and execution of portfolio messaging to the press
- Handle any crisis communications related to portfolio companies
Art+Tech Summits
- Own the production, budgets and execution of annual Art+Tech summits
- Develop the summits into a sustainable revenue stream with a mix of content, subscriptions, tickets and sponsorships.
- Work with internal stakeholders in marketing, PR and social to ensure the most effective brand building for the Art+Tech summits.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and grow the content plan around art+tech – newsletters, interviews, podcasts.
- Review requests for speaking/panel engagements with other summits and conferences to ensure effective
The Candidate
- A proven track record of leading and managing platforms or similar functions in a venture capital fund, business development or a startup ecosystem.
- A deep understanding of the needs and challenges of startups and founders at different stages of their journey.
- A strong network and reputation in the venture capital and startup community, both locally and globally.
- A passion for supporting entrepreneurs and helping them succeed inside and outside Christie’s
- A strategic mindset and a creative problem-solver, with the ability to think big and execute fast.
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
