We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President to join our Growth Ventures team. This role is located in New York City – hybrid.
Growth Ventures is a talent incubator for the Bank, providing exceptional developmental opportunities for high-potential colleagues who may ultimately progress within Growth Ventures, transition to one of the Bank’s other lines of business, or assume leadership roles within one of the Growth Ventures portfolio companies.
Senior Vice President, Growth Ventures will be amongst a tight-knit group of professionals and will play a significant role in shaping and executing priorities for both Growth Ventures and BNY Mellon. The individual will be part of small teams exploring and developing specific commercial opportunities for the Bank. Under the guidance of our Venture Partners/Leads, the individual will work on an opportunity team contributing to the overall effort and also have specific responsibility for delivering one or more projects/workstreams throughout the business development lifecycle.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Assessing market trends that are driving changing client needs, service models, and market infrastructure;
- Sizing the addressable market, including segmenting prospective clients, estimating revenue pools, and suggesting go-to-market options;
- Mapping the peer and competitor landscape to understand relative positioning, identify potential partnerships, and assess potential responses to our market entry;
- Building closer relationships with senior colleagues and partners across LOBs within the Bank to develop specific opportunities
- Building relationships with potential external partners such as PE/VC firms, Fintech companies and other advisory firms including participating in external events and forums to help develop prospective ideas and pipeline of opportunities
- Developing preliminary commercial models for new opportunities, including revenue/fee model options, detailing expected upfront investments and business-as-usual expenses, and estimating expected returns and profitability;
- Crafting execution plans, including defining the development phases and detailing build requirements and investment timelines;
- Defining the interim milestones and key performance indicators/OKRs for use during both the build phase and operating business; and
- Providing program governance; organizing across a broad set of partners and stakeholders to an agreed playbook to ensure clear communication and execution from ideation through to execution and launch.

- Significant years of related experience preferred, including management consulting, wholesale banking, and/or financial technology start-ups
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred
- 5-7 years of related experience preferred in financial technology start-ups
