Capital One Ventures (COV) is the strategic venture investment arm of Capital One. What you’ll do:
As a member of the Platforms team at Capital One Ventures you will focus on the financial management and analysis of Capital One Ventures’ investment portfolio.
You will be asked to handle a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Analyze and aggregate financial reporting of portfolio companies
- Own annual portfolio financial reporting and monitoring efforts for Capital One Ventures and its investment committee
- Maintain COV’s internal ledger and own process of socializing revaluations to appropriate stakeholders
- Identify financial risks and opportunities within the investment portfolio on an ongoing real-time basis
- Derive insights and make recommendations related to COV’s potential investment size, follow-on participation, total ownership, secondary sales, potential impairments, valuations, or risk remediation within the portfolio
- Develop criteria and frameworks for investment decisions based on financial learnings across the portfolio
- Develop KPIs and metrics related to overall portfolio analysis and individual portfolio companies
- Understand individual portfolio companies partnership and revenue share agreements; track and report KPIs
- Develop trusted relationships with select portfolio companies to closely monitor positions and exposure
- Monitor and track funding rounds and material corporate actions of all portfolio companies
- Lead and manage all team financial reports
- Leverage and manage existing Salesforce based tools, for information management and reporting related to Portfolio company management
- Track fund investments including deal flow, fund size, and exposure
- Manage fund investments, execute capital calls and coordinate distributions
- Understand and communicate broader macro market trends, develop market updates and sector specific information to inform decisions
- Support team budgeting and P&L management
- Understand strategic imperatives and priorities across the portfolio
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Investment Banking, Consulting, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Accounting or Fund management
- At least 3 years professional experience of data or financial analysis
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a role presenting and communicating to multi-level audience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Finance or Business
- 6+ years of Investment Banking, Consulting, Private Equity, Corporate Finance, Accounting or fund management experience
- 3+ years of experience in Venture Capital or investment management experience
- Professional experience and demonstrated understanding of venture capital transactions and ownership structures
- Demonstrated familiarity with financial profiles of startups at various lifecycle stages
- Experience managing unstructured data and developing reporting mechanisms
- Salesforce reporting and platform management experience

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $163,300 – $186,400 for Manager, Venture Investing
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
