POSITION: Analyst, Global Private Credit (Focus on Specialty Finance/Asset Based Lending)
Opportunity to gain experience with a leading private markets investment firm as an Analyst on the Global Private Credit team in New York. The Analyst will have a particular focus on the specialty finance and financial technology industries, where our client seeks to make investments in the full capital structure, senior debt to equity, securitization structures, asset purchases and operating company equity.
The successful candidate will work with the firm’s senior investment professionals in building the global private credit platform, raising dedicated funds and developing the strategy around specialty finance and financial technology. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to build upon their experience in a demanding but rewarding team-based environment with a lot of room for growth and upward mobility.
Role and Responsibilities
· Conducting due diligence on investment opportunities by obtaining, reviewing and evaluating third-party due diligence reports
· Performing industry, company and asset-class research and conducting in-depth valuation analyses of companies and assets
· Meeting with company management to review past performance, strategy, outlook, industry issues and other relevant topics, as required
· Developing comprehensive financial and business analyses to review industry, business strategy, competitive positioning and financial strength
· Working with the deal team in preparing due diligence materials and developing balanced, fact-based investment committee recommendations
· Reviewing and monitoring the ongoing financial performance of portfolio investments; overseeing the preparation and audit review of quarterly and annual portfolio company valuations
· Contributing to ongoing business building initiatives (deal flow management; due diligence processes; portfolio and risk management tools and systems; investor reporting etc.)
· Contributing directly to the firm’s ongoing business development, and fundraising and investor relations efforts, conducting research and analysis to support presentations to companies, financial intermediaries, industry partners, prospective investors and investment consultants

Qualifications
· 1-3 years of experience in asset-based specialty finance direct lending or investment banking (structured product, financial institutions group or leverage finance / restructuring groups)
· Strong technical foundation in corporate finance, accounting and statistics and strong analytical and quantitative skills, including substantial experience in company and industry research, financial modelling and valuation
· Highly self-motivated, self-directed and results orientated individual, with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving
· Demonstrated experience in conducting research and collaborating with others to develop solutions
· Strong interpersonal and business relationships skills in addition to strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively
· Proven ability to successfully multi-task with strong attention to detail
· Demonstrably high standards of professionalism and integrity
· The salary for the role is $115,000 USD annually. The salary listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
