This role is responsible for analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and translating business needs into functional requirements for Data and IT projects. The Business Analyst collaborates with various departments to gather and document business requirements, create process models, and ensure that implemented solutions align with organizational goals and user needs. Key responsibilities include conducting thorough analyses of business operations, systems, and user requirements; facilitating communication between business units and Data and IT teams; and contributing to the successful delivery of projects that enhance operational efficiency and drive business value. The Business Analyst also plays an integral part in change management, helping SAFE Credit Union adapt to new processes and technologies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIESWork with Business Data Stewards and business stake holders to gather and analyze business requirements through interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, and observation of business processes Develop and maintain detailed business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications (TRDs), and process models (BPMs) Create visual representations of business processes and data flows using appropriate tools and methodologies Conduct gap analysis between current and desired business processes, recommending solutions to bridge identified gaps Assist in the development of project scope, objectives, and success criteria Facilitate communication between business units and technical teams to ensure mutual understanding of project requirements Develop and execute test plans to ensure that implemented solutions meet business requirements Support user acceptance testing and provide guidance to end-users during system implementation Contribute to the creation of training materials and user documentation for new systems and processes operations Assist in change management activities to support the adoption of new processes and systems Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders Document post-implementation reviews to ensure solution effectiveness and identify areas for improvement Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to provide relevant insights and recommendations Contribute to the continuous improvement of business analysis practices within the organization Collaborate with project managers and technical team members to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budgetPerform other duties, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role. In lieu of a degree, candidates with 7+ years of equivalent work experience in business analysis, project management, or a closely related field may be considered. Certificates, licenses, registrations: Professional certification such as ECBA (Entry Certificate in Business Analysis), CCBA (Certification of Capability in Business Analysis), or IIBA-AAC (IIBA Agile Analysis Certification) is preferred. Additional certifications such as ITIL Foundation or Scrum Master are beneficial. Required Knowledge: Solid understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, and best practices Knowledge of various requirements elicitation techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys, document analysis) Familiarity with the software development life cycle (SDLC) and common project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) Understanding of business process modeling techniques and notation (e.g., BPMN, UML) Knowledge of requirements documentation practices and tools Basic understanding of database concepts and data modeling Familiarity with testing methodologies and practices Understanding of change management principles Knowledge of common business applications and systems (e.g., Banking Cores, CRM, ERP) Awareness of IT service management concepts (e.g., ITIL fundamentals) Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and their impact on business processes Familiarity with business intelligence and data visualization concepts Understanding of regulatory compliance relevant to the industry (e.g., data privacy laws) Knowledge of common office productivity tools and their application in business analysis Awareness of current industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the financial industry Experience Required: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
