You are responsible for being an effective part of a software development team and contributing throughout the software development lifecycle. You are self-motivated professional, with a strong technical foundation and the ability to quickly learn new technologies and programming languages. You work with colleagues to understand overall goals and requirements and can execute as a DevSecOps team member to provide solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
What you will do: - Architect, design and deliver high-quality code independently by following Bloomberg INDG best practices.
- Understand and make well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in your area; able to work in other areas of the codebase with guidance.
- Diagnose and fix production issues.
- Communicate with the development lead to raise issues and identify potential barriers in a timely fashion.
- Build enterprise applications at-scale using demonstrated expertise in computer science fundamentals.
- Develop clean code to accomplish project goals that is scalable, high availability, and performant, leveraging knowledge of Programming, Infrastructure as Code, Networking, and Information Security.
- Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
You need to have: - Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- At least 1 year of software development experience and/or commensurate skills building commercial applications with modern software engineering practices.
- Demonstrated record of successfully participating in distributed software delivery teams using Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps practices.
- Knowledge of cloud technologies i.e. AWS, Serverless, Event Driven Architecture, SOA, MicroServices, Microfrontend, CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, and other modern technologies.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, architecture/design patterns, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
